Lesson Overview… Please read before you begin the lesson!

Hey [firstname]…

Too often, we take a chord, solo, lick or scale (fill in the blank) and piddle around with it very little – as in NOT enough “piddling around” with it!

Let me explain what I mean…

As guitarist, we only take this (or that) at face value. We learn something and then we just try to rush ahead to the next thing. This is (in my opinion) one of the biggest hold-ups we can place on ourselves.

The power to really jump ahead comes from being bold enough to “jump”!

In other words [firstname], we should spend a little time adding a finger (note) on a string exactly where we think it’s NOT supposed to go.

You’ll be amazed at the things that will come out in your playing just by doing this simple step.

In today’s lesson we’ll discover that by adding a note to our old friend “The D Power Chord”, it enables us to emphasize as setup or a pause in a songs chord structure. DON’T GET HUNG UP ON WHAT I’M SAYING HERE!

Go through the lesson closely and listen. Really listen. In fact, I’d encourage you to close your eyes (often) and truly listen to what’s going on. Rely on your ears to hear something drop in tone gently or scream out like a run away train.

The beauty in this lesson is that it will take a simple chord and show you how to automatically be sitting on top of The Pentatonic Minor.

So what? Big deal…. Well….

It sure is a big deal because it will allow you to naturally insert a lick on top of the key you’re playing in as well as open up a world of possibilities. Give it time to sink in. You’ll love it.

Enjoy.

Jerry
