Lesson 10
The Two Finger Tango

“The Two Finger Tango”

By Jerry Wyatt

Lesson Overview…

Hey [firstname]…

Ready to fly?… I know you are! To have come this far in the lessons is a great thing and I’m here to tell you, it’s all going to start fitting together more and more.

Today we’re going to take two fingers and make some great sounding things come to the surface in our playing. You gotta love that!Who says you have to hold weird looking chords that seem impossible to hold?

These little dudes can sound like they have a “growl” or they can make beautiful melodies that lead us right into a natural fitting spot to play a solo… Think “Cowboy Blues, “Trip-O-Let” and “Going Country Not“. You’ll find that I’ve built these lessons so they cause you to end up in a spot to play a solo. The guessing work has been taken out for you.

On top of that, we’ll pull from our tools we’ve already been working on and weave a few things together.

You probably already know by now that these lessons seem to just have a neat way of bringing things out of you!

Well, let me tell you something…

It just keeps getting better and better. As we stack each lesson, you’ll notice that often we’ll pull a little something from one of our previous lessons. You can’t imagine how much this helps things stick in our minds and our fingers. It’s our constant refreshing that makes us all more accomplished players.

Take today’s lesson and go through it patiently. Go through it again….

We’ll be referencing the “Going Country-Not” lesson throughout this lesson as we merge it with something new – neat – and very cool! If you need to jump to the “Going Country Not”, you can click here or follow the lesson link to the right in your lessons list. I think I’ve covered it pretty well in today’s lesson but you know you can always polish up on any of your lessons to the right – anytime you’d like.

Allow this lesson to sink in and by all means, build on it. Experiment. Take your time and just play with it.

I encourage you to close your eyes occasionally and just listen to what comes out of your fingers. You don’t have to try to move all over the place. Just close your eyes and listen.  [firstname], you are a guitarist and I honestly believe you have made a wise investment in your playing. Take the time to enjoy it.

I hope you enjoy this lesson.

Talk soon.

Jerry

Excellent Reading

martinhistory

From time to time, I come across things that are cool to use, read, or have in your  guitar arsenal. Such is the case in what I’m about to share with you right here!

It’s funny how music or any art form becomes a part of you – even in the simplest things that you do from day to day. I know for myself, I can hear a certain song or even a solo and immediately, I am transported back in time or even caused to think about my future. I’m sure you understand. It feeds the soul and THE SOUL seems to feed it. It’s a circle to a certain extent.

Well today I’d like to encourage you to pick a copy of this book and put it next to your guitar. It speaks volumes about Martins impact on the wonderful instrument you and I know as the guitar. It will help you appreciate more and more what you, I, and the whole guitar Tribe all over the world are participants in. Whether you own a Martin or simply aspire to own one, this book is a must have in my opinion.

Whether I have my guitar in my hand or it’s just in the back of my mind, it seems like the more I engross myself in it, the more I grow as a player – and I believe you will too!

The history of Martin and the impact it has made on guitarists all over the world (famous and weekend warriors alike) is nothing less than amazing. I know you’ll love this book!
