Lesson Overview…

[firstname]…

Get ready! This lesson will light a fire under your britches!

Funk…

I love playing funky music because it causes us to incorporate some really neat things in our playing – any of which just seem to happen on their own once you get the hang of it!

Whicka-Chicka!

You’ll be doing this by the end of the lesson and understanding how to bring some serious movement into your picking/strumming hand as well as demanding a new use out of your fretting hand on the neck.

The cool thng about this lesson is that it helps you to learn how to stay “in time” with a rhythm while slinging licks in between what you’re doing – all of which is a very good thing.

Whatever you do, spend some time getting to know and understand this lesson. And by all means, jump out! Move around and make some mistakes. Don’t get hung up on it if you don’t get it to sound right coming out of the gates.

You’ll get it and you’ll be glad you did.

Also in this lesson, you’ll learn two ultra cool chords I call the A and D Blues chords.

These two chords have a nice warm sound that can be used in any style of music. Any style!

So go for it. Make them sound “Bluesy”. Make them sound jazzy or shove them in a cool rock rhythm and just listen to the new dynamic they give to your playing.

Always – always – always remember…

The scales we’ve already covered in previous lessons are just begging for you to pull them in between these chords as well as your other chords you already learned.

Try moving these chords up to Triple Factor if you have a cut-away guitar and can reach them. If not, don’t worry about it. You may not be able to hold the positions up 12 frets but two things are for sure. You can always tap or touch.

If you’ve forgotten this, do a refresher and go back over the old Triple Factor lessons here in the members area. You’ll be glad you did!

Alright, let’s get to it. Go jam and give me some feedback on your success with this lesson. It’s killer.

Take it smooth!

Jerry

CHECK THIS OUT WHILE YOU’RE HERE…

Alright, I’ll admit it…

In my guitar picking’ lifetime, I’ve done it a thousand times and I’ll bet you have too…

You know the deal. You wrap up a guitar picking session and you lean your guitar against the wall or in a corner. Or maybe this sounds familiar. You decide in the middle of a great jam session you need a quick break to take a wizzz or get something to quench your thirst. So what do we do? We take our soul companion (our guitar, our prized six string friend that we likely worked our tails off to purchase), we take it and sit it on the couch or lean it against our amp or wall.

Been there?

Come on… You know you have!!! We’re all alike! We all do it or have done it.

Stop doing it friends. If you haven’t already experienced the screeching sound of your guitar slipping and crashing into the floor, YOU WILL! You can count on it!

In my mind, that’s one of the worst sounds. It’s like a key being dragged down the side of a car. You can’t rewind. You can’t undo it!

Let me encourage you to grab yourself one of these bad little dudes (that’s a link) right now!

These have to be one of the coolest guitar stands I’ve ever seen.

Look, your guitar is an instrument. It’s special.

I know this is going to sound crazy but there’s something special about lifting your guitar up off “IT’S SPECIAL PLACE/SEAT” and playing it as opposed to pulling it out of a corner or something. It just makes the whole experience seem better.

If you don’t keep them in a case, Let me encourage you to keep them on a beautiful stand (CLICK HERE TO SEE ONE I LOVE).

A guitar is a piece of functioning art. This stand looks great with a guitar on it and even when your guitar is in your hands, the stand looks like a piece of art and itself screams, “Something special goes here!”. Let me encourage you to Check out this stand!

You’re gonna love it!
