[firstname]…

Did you know that one of the biggest hang ups for some pickers is switching chords? try adding a quick lick in between a switch and it can frustrate some players to NO END!

Well – I understand!

I can recall several years ago being so frustrated with this because I’d end up getting dead strings or sloppy sounding changes at times myself. It used to drive me nuts!

Today’s lesson addresses this quite nicely by introducing a version of the G and C that will give you a nice-rich sounding chord that requires very little movement between the two. It also enables us to latch on to a D major very easily as well.

The thing I like about this is it adds a higher D note into both chords by using the B string – and it feels very natural to do it. The tone of the chords give them somewhat of a cutting sound that causes them to come through nice. You’ll hear it easily!

The next part of the lesson builds on these chords by adding Backstage from the Pentatonic Minor.

Within just a few short minutes you’re going to discover something about this lesson…

It’s easy to do!

Yep, you guessed it… The lick is just sitting right under where your fingers are already placed which means it’s easy to go to – and then get back to your chords. Music to a lead guitarist’s ears!

Run through this a few times and you’ll love it. Don’t cheat! Take your time and get it down.

Then, after you get it smooth, take the lick up and do it in Front Stage.

Remember that?

If not, just jump over to “The Bridge” lessons to your right and go to the “Front Stage” lessons. You’ll master it in no time flat. I have confidence in those finger of yours so get with it and enjoy yourself!

Your “Pickin’ Pal”,

Jerry
