Hey!
I hope this lands in your hands and finds you happy and healthy.
Before you jump into this video, I need to tell you something… It’s important… So make it stick!
As you know, a few days ago, I shared the list of the “Top 10 Problems” all players face. I’m sure you’ve looked those over by now. If you haven’t… c’mon… get to it!
If you did look them over, you NO DOUBT realize you are as normal as any other guitar player. You are probably faced with several of those problems, right?
I get asked (every single day) how to escape one or more of these same problems – and I’m always happy as a tick on a hound dog to show people just like you how to eliminate these things very fast. When you do… things just start happening automatically in other areas of your playing!
Over the past couple weeks we’ve touched on a few great ideas that have shown you how easy you can start opening up your playing.
If you’ve taken the time to look over some of the comments below each lesson, you’ve noticed there are many comments from players (just like you and I) that are seeing the doors open – and when I say “open”… I mean WIDE!!
I want you to look at this actual email I received… I get things like this every day from folks that are in my main course (called “Full Blown”). I’ll tell you more about “Full Blown” soon enough. For now, look at this message I received. Think about what is being said here! We’re talking about SLASHING years off your learning… Look at this…
I love it.
I love hearing from every single one of you guys and gals.
[HINT] It’s easier for your old bud (me) when you leave your comments in the lesson area for me to respond to. They get emailed to me automatically and it helps me keep up better. But you’re still welcome to email me if that feels better. I get tons of those emails!
Anywho..
By now, you are starting to realize you can jump start your playing.
There are alternative ways to learn to play guitar that can leave you (and those around you) amazed with how fast you advance in your playing – if you can just think outside of the box.
So let me just say this to you:
(I need you to take an honest look at yourself!)
1. If you believe that there must surely be a way to advance as a guitar player WITHOUT having to be strung along for years learning junk you’ll never use…
2. If you feel like you can dedicate a small amount of time each week to your dream of playing the guitar…
3. If you believe there are simple things you can do to play guitar (and I mean really play it – like wild) without having to know or learn music theory…
4. If you are the type person that likes to think “outside the box” and get to where you want to go –without having to go a thousand miles out of your way to get there…
… then there’s really no good reason (at all) you can’t achieve amazing results quicker than you ever imagined – even if you are new to playing guitar.
So, keep on practicing what we’re doing and let’s build on it…
YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THE NEXT LESSON IN “THE BRIDGE” SERIES… It will hit your box in just a few days! It’s called “The Cowboy Blues” and it’s small sampling of what’s dead ahead in “Full Blown”!!! Be ready!! We’re getting ready to start soloing!!
Alright… On with the show… Today’s lesson…
I’m a “Righty”. So I called this “The Right Hand Wiggle Waggle”. If you’re a “Lefty”, just practice it with your picking hand.
The lesson itself is nothing fancy. It isn’t meant to be! It’s meant to show you the easiest way to get more speed and accuracy out of you picking hand.
Bottom line, this little dude will help snap your picking hand right in shape! The lesson itself seems goofy but I can’t begin to tell you how many people write me about having problems with their “picking” hand (and how this video helps). They want to learn to pick faster and cleaner. Well, I’m telling you… THIS WILL DO THE TRICK!
Audio is a little low… sorry. We didn’t catch this until it was wayyyy to late. We’ve boosted the signal as high as we can get it. You can get a little more volume out of it by clicking the tiny speaker volume in the video screen itself. It’s at the bottom right in the video screen and looks like a triangle on it’s side.
Until the next time… Take it easy!
~Jerry

Jerry, you’re a genius! Next great exercise! Thank you sooo much!

Hi Jerry,
This is a real tough one for me…. just can’t seem to get the right hand moving as quickly as yours does in the video. I’m going to keep after it though… hopefully my hand muscles will catch on and do what they need to do. :)
Jerry ! great lesson at first i,am like what the f**. This guy is crazy. But after picking up my guitar and doing this drill. Its great practice. I have done it in all kinds of ways. Like in 4 count and 2 count and 3 count and even in 6 count. And starting in other spots of the guitar neck . ONCE AGAIN THANKS FOR THE FREE LESSONS.
Hi Jerry,
I have always had trouble speed picking and its true that if yoiu struggle with things you tend to
avoid them when in fact you should spend more time on them as with any technique.. so I will be re-visiting speed picking again.
Thanks,
Phil.
Hey Jerry, thanks for that lesson. when i fist started learing to play, my teacher was a jazz professional and considered one of the the best guitar players around (he could play really fast). He taught me that very same technique you just showed us NOT to use so I’ve been working on my hand movement since and now I am getting “it”, I think I’m finally beginning to get to where I wanna go. …. hope you and your family are well. Things are getting better here in Japan ( knock on Vvirtual wood! LOL)

Jerry, another great technique- I’m sure it will help me. One criticism of your lessons- you need to either get the mic closer to you or wear a lapel mic- I have my speakers turned all the way up and you’re barely audible.
NOTE FROM JERRY:
Nick, I’m sorry about that. “The Bridge” mini course suffered in this area but we got things right in “Full Blown”. From what O gather from everybody in our “TRIBE” (all the students), they are still glad to suffer through the rough spots in The Bridge.
Thanks,
Jerry
Great lesson!
I´m a teacher myself, although I teach languages and I must say !Great lesson!
Your really doing nice. Continue this way!

BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Its not as easy as it looks man haha. I’m gonna practice this when I’m waiting for the bus and when I’m in the checkout line at the grocery store. NOT lol. But I AM gonna do it.
Thanks Jerry
YOU NEED MORE COUNTRY LICKS JERRY KEPPUP HTE GOOD WORK IF YOU PUT OUT A DVD OF COUNTRY I WOOD LIKE ONE THESHAKER
HI Jerry I been playing for years, want so bad to get to the advance level. You do make it look easy the way you teach. I was wondering since these mini course are building blocks, will you be getting into some hot licks and riffs, that is what I am lacking. I know the 5 positions of the minor pentatonic scales, but my lead playing is just lacking something. If I could learn how you do some of your riffs and hot licks that would be awesome, plus learning the fast licks going all over the neck. If so I for sure want to sign up for your lessons. By the way, I bought a fiddle from the pied piper in huntington wv where you was talking about and my parents are from wv…..small world eh. Thanks for any help that you can give me. Eagle
Jerry got to say what your teaching is working
looking forward too more.
Tom
Who would have thought! What a great little idea Jerry. Excellent tip.
Barb
This is exactly the sort of thing that most teachers assume isn’t important. I love this lesson. It really does help get my picking handworking better. Been practicing it with the 1234234 twist and I wish you could see the before and after.
Great little tip Jerry. I’m convinced, you can help about anybody. Even someone that’s been playing a few years.
Thansk you.
Billiam
Excellent little tip man. Been playing for several years and this even helped me get a few kinks out. Good job.
this has helped a whole lot you can call these hand motions goofy but they work i’m 40 plus and have been tring to learn for years and this has been a god send for me.
JERRY
MAN, WHERE DO YOU COME UP WITH THIS STUFF? EVERYTHING YOU’VE SHARED SO FAR HAS JUST BEEN GREAT. THIS LESSON STRUCK ME AS ODD AT FIRST BUT I’M TELLING YOU THE TRUTH, IT’S ANOTHER GREAT ONE. I’VE ALWAY HAS TROUBLE GETTING MY PICKING HAND TO MOVE FAST. JUST LIKE YOU SAID, I GET TENSED UP. WELL THIS FUNNY LITTLE DRILL HELPED LIKE WILD. THANKS ALOT JERRY. I’LL BE AROUND WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR BIG COURSE.
THNX.
BRENT
Jerry,
You – are – a – character! When I saw this I thought, “well duhhhh”.
But when I got my guitar out and tried to pick quickly, I found that you are exactly right. The quicker I try to play, the more I tense up and the less accurate I am.
So, I tried doing exactly what you said to do.
I’m no kidding you when I say my picking speed was nearly twice as fast and clean clean clean.
Jerry, you have a way of making a person think and I like it. You’re doing a fine job and I guess I stand corrected in my thinking. No more “Duh’s” from me.
What’s all the buzz about your big course coming out. I can’t find a link here to get in it or how much it’s going to cost.
Thanks.
WILLBILL
Great little tip. I notice at times it looks like you are doing this while you are playing. I have trouble playing faster leads and leads in general. I’ve started doing this little pointer and things are sounding better and cleaner.
Jerry I’d just like to say thankyou,Ive been trying to get my son to pick up his guitar for a year, and your mini coares are the only thing that have inspired him to do so.My learning has become faster and easier as well. Again thankyou, for your coarse, and I’ll pass it on.
I laughed when you gave us the Look Mom No Guitar Lesson. Then I tried doing it. I stopped laughing. That thing was tough!!!! But after getting it down YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE how much it and the other lessons have improved my playing. This lesson seems funny as well but like everything else you’ve given Jerry, it helps. Why in the world don’t other teachers cover these things? I’ve been bored for months with my existing teacher. He doesn’t seem passionate about making sure I understand things until it’s time for the check. I’m anxious to hear about your course you’re putting out. Put it this way. If it’s anything close to what I pay now, I’m in and my existing teacher is out.
Thanks.
Brandon
Alright Jerry, I have to be honest with you. When I first saw this I started cracking up. But you know what, just like you’re other lessons, this thing is working its magic. I have always felt like my right hand was just stiff in my picking. You know what I mean. Anyway, I tried doing this goofy tip of yours then I took it to the guitar. By the time I had finished practicing, I sat my guitar down and laughed to myself and I’m not kidding, I said out loud… “Thanks Jerry – You’ve done it again”.
This is just another example Jerry. You’re system helps. Can’t wait to see more.
Pat
I really love the lessons so far. I’m one of the ones you talked about who has played for a long time (more than 40 years) off and on but I don’t really sound like it. Does it matter if the ring and little finger are reversed on the A power cord. I learned it that way and I’m trying to change but it’s hard.
